The Huffer Foundation is a charitable grantmaking organization. Their new website presents the various focus areas for which they provide grants and explains their values, purpose, and interests in a defined and explorative manner.
Deliverables:
• Wordpress Website Design & Development
• Brand Refresh
The Huffer Foundation’s existing website was simply informational before we met. We wanted to introduce the possibility of increased engagement and inclusion of more content. We collected data from the grants they’ve written in recent years and used that as a jumping-off point.
The new website offers information geared at grantseekers. We provide examples of the types of organizations that have received grants from The Huffer Foundation in the past, describe the focus areas where grants are available, and direct seekers to the next steps in the process.
The Huffer Foundation already had a basic brand, so I refreshed their logo and color palette and brought these details throughout the new site. Paired with curated photography, the site is inviting yet informative.
Sitka Community Hospital was a client of the boutique design studio J.I. Design on an annual contract. I led the team that managed their social media, print collateral, hospital signage, and email marketing.
Deliverables:
• Print collateral for inbound and outbound use, including a patient handbook, brochures for the hospital and outpatient facilities, and certificates and forms
• Print ads run in local newspapers and on local websites, updated every other week
• Name tags and business cards for the hospital staff
• Signage for the interior and exterior of the hospital
Sitka Community Hospital was a mainstay in the small, close-knit community of Sitka, Alaska when we worked with them. It was imperative that the materials across all initiatives remained consistent with their brand, as well as inviting and informative to the patients and community.
I was in constant contact with the director of the hospital during the time our studio held this contract. I was able to regularly present new ideas, report on project statuses, and ensure that our concurrent project timelines were flowing appropriately.
Olivia Sloan Events is an event planner in the Seattle, Washington area, specializing in weddings, private parties, and corporate events. Olivia and I developed a brand identity and website that could span all of these initiatives yet remain inviting and polished.
Deliverables:
• Brand Identity
• Printed Materials, including business cards and postcards
• Wordpress Website Design & Development with custom icon illustrations
Our goal for Olivia was to develop a brand and website that worked to address her different initiatives while remaining cohesive and clear. We chose a color palette that was friendly to the private parties and corporate world, but definitely more popular within the wedding world. We kept things classic and clean with traditional typefaces, lots of intentional white space, and well-organized information.
Her business cards were one of my favorites parts of the project. They are on a matte, soft-touch stock and feature extra shiny gold foil. This combination of finishes brings out the beauty in the simplicity of her logomark.
Northlight Interiors is a home goods and gift shop and interior design studio in Sumner, Washington. Their new brand identity is a representation of the timeless, refined, and quality interiors they create for their clients.
Deliverables:
• Brand Identity
• Printed Materials, including business cards and postcards
As a graphic designer myself, I have a passion for all things pretty–packaging, paper goods, magazine layouts, architecture, and of course, interiors. I was excited to embark on this journey to develop a beautiful brand for Northlight Interiors.
We knew we wanted something sharp yet approachable. The chosen primary typeface is a contemporary take on their original logotype. A delicate laurel leaf combined with cohesive type is encapsulated by a border reminiscent of a handmade tile.
Their business cards are printed on a strong linen stock, for a touch of luxury without being overbearing. We also designed a postcard for display in their gift shop, defining and presenting the interior design services that they provide.
Effie Gurmeza is a brand photographer and social media strategist in the South Sound (Washington). She focuses on showcasing everyday luxury items and the passions and motives behind the businesses she works with.
Deliverables:
• Website Design & Development
Effie had recently completed a branding project with another agency and came to me to help with her website. Our goals for the new site included showcasing her clients and their businesses, and defining and presenting the services that she provides for current and future clients.
We kept the site consistent with her brand. As always when working with photographers, I am fortunate to have a supply of beautiful content to work with, so we made sure to bring as much photography in as possible. She also maintains a blog with advice on brand photography and social media marketing, so we made sure that this side of the website would be beautiful and easily navigable.
Sitka Through Four Seasons is a tourism initiative produced by Travel Sitka. It collects resources, businesses, and activities in and around the town of Sitka, Alaska and provides them to tourists and locals.
Deliverables:
• Annual Visitor Guide, a 16-page, full-color print booklet
Our task was to collect all of the content, design and/or place ads, lay out and typeset the full booklet, and manage print production. The content collection process included a full calendar year of local events, local attractions with descriptions for each, featured businesses, and a walking tour map. The brand for Sitka Through Four Seasons was developed prior to the project, so my team ensured that the booklet followed brand guidelines.
The Visitor Guide is found at most local businesses throughout Sitka and is a staple for tourists stopping by, whether for an afternoon or an extended stay.
Hello, Cupcake is Tacoma, Washington’s premier cupcake bakery. Their brick-and-mortar shop in the heart of the city on Pacific Ave has been a mainstay for many years. I had the pleasure of executing a complete overhaul of their website.
Deliverables:
• Wordpress Website Design & Development
• Shopify installation, including special functionality such as in-store pickup and local delivery scheduling, printed invoice templates, and minimum and maximum order restrictions
Hello, Cupcake’s website is an important part of their day-to-day business. They offer online ordering for in-store pickup and local delivery and provide a great amount of information regarding their other services, such as catering events and weddings.
The ordering process prior to our redesign was not user friendly, so this was our main priority. We also wanted to craft a more inviting and guided experience. Though there is a lot of inventory available, we made it as easy and enjoyable as possible for the customer to find what best fits their needs. I continue to update and overturn the menu and product offerings on a monthly basis, ensuring that all the features of the ordering process are running smoothly.
The company already had a fully developed brand, so it was important that I design their website as a seamless piece of this identity. The website is an extension of their carefully curated shop interior. We worked with a professional photographer to ensure that the photography is consistent and effective.
Skytop Strategies is an organizer of 4+ B2B programs per quarter in the realms of cyber security, business resilience, and sustainability. I spearheaded the implementation of a web app that was used to minimize paper materials and increase engagement at these conferences. My other duties included managing the website and designing print collateral for internal and external use.
Deliverables:
• Program App design and management of the development
• Design and production of printed materials
• Manage the website design and content
For each conference, I was in charge of designing name badges, venue signage, and updating the website with appropriate information. After we launched the program app, I was set up the app and populated for each event. This included information on the conference itself, lodging, venue location, session leaders, panels, and the agenda.
Moch Snyder is a well-known, award-winning photographer in the Seattle, Washington area. She specializes in film photography for weddings, families, and boudoir sittings. Her well-crafted photographic style and sweet personality are her strongest assets, so we conveyed both in her branding and website.
Deliverables:
• Brand Identity
• Printed Materials, including business cards
• Website design and development with custom icon illustrations
Moch Snyder’s business succeeds heavily because of word-of-mouth recommendations. After studying and perfecting film photography over the past few years, she knew it was time she brought her online presence and branding up to standard.
We worked with local calligrapher, Rachel Johnson Calligraphy Co., to incorporate a unique brush lettering into her logo. This was a wonderful solution to her desire to bring in handcrafted elements while remaining professional and polished. Her brand also incorporates watercolor washes, as seen on her business cards. Her color palette is muted and warm.
Her website is a beautiful collection of her photography, presented in a user-friendly and engaging format. She regularly updates her blog, which was a big help to me in terms of collecting pertinent content. Visitors to the site immediately understand exactly who Moch is and what she offers to the creative community.
